YMCA St Helens receives £1,000 boost from the Miller Homes Community Fund

Miller Homes North West has donated £1,000 to YMCA St Helens, supporting its mission to provide vital services for the local community. The funding will help expand sports classes for young people, encouraging physical activity and social engagement within the charity's newly built Youth Hub.
Since 1887, YMCA St Helens has worked to support people in need, offering housing, training, and advice for more than 250 homeless individuals and 150 families and young people each year. The charity, located in close proximity to Miller Homes' Rookery Place development, provides a safe space where individuals can feel secure, respected, and empowered to grow.
The donation from Miller Homes will fund 30 hours of sports sessions, covering facilitator costs and contributing to the running of the Youth Hub. These classes will cater to various interests and abilities, creating an inclusive and supportive environment where young people can build confidence, develop physical skills, and foster social connections.
Bethan Gaskell, Community and Trust Fundraiser at YMCA St Helens, said: “We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation from Miller Homes. It will enable us to offer more opportunities for young people to get active, build friendships, and develop valuable life skills through sport. These sessions will not only improve physical fitness but also promote teamwork, resilience, and self-discipline.”
Clare Noakes, Sales Director at Miller Homes North West, added: “YMCA St Helens is a fantastic organisation that plays a key role in supporting the local community. We are delighted that our Community Fund can help expand the sports programme at the Youth Hub, creating positive opportunities for young people in the area.”
The donation from Miller Homes is part of the homebuilder’s 2025 Community Fund, which was established to support local groups, charities, and community organisations near its developments. Grants ranging from £250 to £2,000 are available to help these organisations thrive. Applications for the next round of the Community Fund will open in March 2025.
Miller Homes' newest development in the North West, Rookery Place, is now open for those looking to buy a new home. A range of purchasing options, including Part Exchange and deposit contributions on selected properties can help make the process more straightforward and accessible.
