Nestled between the border of Greater Manchester and Merseyside, Ashton-in-Makerfield is known for its tight knit community and rich industrial past.
Two of the North West’s biggest cities are less than a one-hour drive away, so whether visiting for work or leisure, it’s easy to stay connected to Manchester and Liverpool from this charming commuter town. Whether visiting the Greensway Shopping Arcade, or browsing the town’s high street there are plenty of local shops – not to mention pubs, contemporary bars and takeaways for those cosy nights in.
A number of Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ schools are in the area, including Nicol Mere School and Garswood Primary and Nursery School, as well as Ashton Sixth Form College.
