Just ten minutes’ stroll from the village centre, Spring Wood Park has a peaceful ambience that contrasts with its convenience. The A660 brings the centre of Leeds within 20 minutes’ drive, and bus services between Leeds and Ilkley stop beside the development. The area has a network of foot and cycle paths, while for travel further afield Spring Wood Park is just four miles from Leeds Bradford International Airport. Shops and services within a few yards of the development include an off-licence specialising in fine wines, an independent coffee shop, a family butcher, a delicatessen, and a convenience store. The village has a pharmacy, a bakery, a newsagent, a gift shop, food takeaways, hairdressers, and a historic pub and restaurant, the Fox and Hounds. There are also two farm shops within walking distance, and a wider choice, including a large Co-op with post office facilities, can be found in Adel, just two miles away.
Much of community life focuses on the Village Hall, which hosts a diversity of activities and events for all ages, from playgroups to art classes, yoga, theatre, and the annual Village Show. The hall is flanked by tennis and bowling clubs, both of which welcome new members, and there is a cricket club at the west end of the village and a rugby club just a few yards from Spring Wood Park. The well-equipped playground in the village is set in a delightful wooded park.

“Once you’ve purchased, the relationship builds.”
“Everything happened as they said it would in the middle of a national crisis.”
The purchase process was very simple; there was no stress. House prices were fluctuating at quite an uncertain time so reserving online was ideal. Then, dealing with the solicitors, getting the date, and getting the keys was very straight forward.
“The location is spot on.”
Leeds and all it offers is fifteen minutes away, but I’m still ten minutes into the countryside, so even though it’s a larger development, lovely rural walks surrounded by farms and forest are on my doorstep. There’s a very pretty village called Bramhope close by too, and it has little independent shops I can go and visit.
“I was concerned about buying a new home because of the environmental impact, but I’m impressed with what they are providing.”
I can see they have a concern for the bigger picture. They’ve put a lot of effort into trying to make sure it’s in keeping with the surrounding area. They’ve built attractive dry-stone walling and left open areas to encourage wildlife when the builders have gone. They’ve also kept existing mature trees while planting new ones and put up little nests and bat boxes.
“If you ask something, they sort it out, and if you have a question, they answer it.”
The aftersales service is incredible and very reassuring. Initially, we didn’t have Wi-Fi because BT and Virgin hadn’t laid all the cables, but they provided me with free Wi-Fi in the meantime. That was above and beyond. Any minor, cosmetic things I mentioned about the house, they’ve been brilliant with.
I’d definitely recommend Miller Homes…
…because they build to quite a high standard and they have a very good aftersales service. I genuinely think they want customers to be happy throughout the whole process from purchasing to moving in, and then for some time after that.
