New homes in Middlesbrough and why it’s a great place to live

Located close to the Cleveland Coast, Middlesbrough lies at the southern end of the North East of England and at the top of North Yorkshire. For us though it sits firmly within our Teesside region.

Sitting on the southern bank of the River Tees it has a proud industrial heritage based around its port and townsfolk that are full of warmth and welcome.

It's all about the port

Once bustling, with imports and exports of its manufacturing bases for stainless steel and ship building, the recently formed Teesport is once again enjoying a resurgence as a place for industry, manufacturing, innovation, and the new digital age.

To support this considerable investment programme, our Portside Village development, sits close by providing new homes in Middlesbrough for the people that work within the Teesport scheme and surrounding area. As the fifth largest maritime development in the UK,.it is the only port in England to handle more exports than imports.

England at its best

But the banks of the Tees are not all given over to industry. To the contrary. There are miles of protected nature reserves and coastal retreats that make a great place to find a little peace and quiet.

RSBP Saltholme, not only gives places to bird watch and stroll, but also afford amazing views of the iconic Tees Transporter Bridge and the National Trusts’ Roseberry Topping. Similarly, Teesmouth National Nature Reserve, offers a chance to see nature at its best, including seal spotting, all whilst with a striking backdrop of the  Middlesbrough skyline.

Redcar Beach, just a few miles away from our new homes in Middlesbrough at Portside Village, gives a great sandy stretch popular with windsurfers and those simply wanting to build a sandcastle or indulge in a northern delight – a traditional fish and chip supper!

Culture and Heritage

Moving inland, away from its riverside activities, Middlesbrough offers plenty to do.

The Middlesbrough Museum of Modern Art (MIMA), occupies a striking building in Centre Square and since 2014 has been part of Teesside University. It offers an intimate collection of contemporary art.

For music and plays, Middlesbrough Theatre, also in the heart of the town, offers an enticing schedule throughout the year.

And let’s not forget Middlesbrough Football who play at the Riverside Stadium.  Part of the North Easts proud football heritage, you’ll find the area is very passionate about their football teams!
