The UK's favourite TV property presenters according to Google
From nursery inspiration to decorating with bold wallpaper, we Google everything and anything property-related, all to make our homes perfect.
The same can be said for finding out more about our favourite TV property presenters, whether they’re daytime heroes like Dion Dublin from Homes Under the Hammer or Anna Richardson of the Changing Rooms reboot.
To find out which UK property presenters are the nation’s favourites, we used the number of monthly Google searches for each presenter and their TV show, as well as the IMDB rating for each programme. We combined these stats together to create an index score, revealing the most popular property presenter of all.

Dick Strawbridge takes the prime spot
With 40,500 searches per month for the moustachioed presenter, it’s clear that his Channel 4 show Escape to the Chateau, which documents the renovations of chateaus, is a hit with viewers.
The show even has a huge 318,000 followers on Instagram, which highlights the labour of love which Strawbridge and his wife put into the chateaus.
Property pros top the list
The top five included Angela Scanlon of Your Home Made Perfect. With 74,000 searches a month for the Irish presenter, viewers love watching the show which uses virtual reality to allow homeowners to see their reimagined home before it’s transformed.
Rounding out the most popular five are Grand Designs’ Kevin McCloud, Laura Hamilton from A Place in the Sun and Nick Knowles of DIY SOS.
Stacey Solomon rises into the top 10
Stacey Solomon will soon be presenting a new BBC show called Sort Your Life Out, where she’ll take six families on a week-long mission to declutter their home.
The pilot aired in April to rave reviews, after Stacey became a firm-favourite with home and property fans, and it looks like it’s dead set to be a hit already, with her coming in 8th in our list. Her practical and cost-effective home-life tips she shares with her 4+million Instagram followers led to her best-selling book being released this year - Tap to Tidy.
Knowles ‘nicks’ the fifth spot
Just breaking into the top 5 is DIY SOS presenter, Nick Knowles.
With 31,100 average monthly Google searches for Nick Knowles and an average IMDB rating of 7.4 for his show, clearly his work is popular with the British public.
The show, especially DIY SOS The Big Build, is a powerful example of what really makes a house a home.
Thanks to the kind generosity of the skilled trades who take part, Nick and his team transform the homes of deserving families, in typically emotional and heartwarming scenes.
Daytime dilemma
Homes Under The Hammer remains a classic for a mid-morning tea break, but of the three core presenters, who’s nailed down first place?
He may love the ‘stairs to the bedroom’, but former footballer Dion Dublin is leading from the front like he did on the pitch, with 40,500 monthly searches.
Dion has become a firm fan-favourite in the six years since signing for the Hammers (not West Ham). Long may that continue!
His co-presenters, Martel Maxwell and the magnificent Martin Roberts, saw 22,200 and 12,100 searches per month respectively. Martin narrowly missed out on the top 20, coming 24th overall.
