Tile Style: How To Bring The Wow-Factor To Your Home With Tiling

Tile Style: How To Bring The Wow-Factor To Your Home With Tiling
Tiles have made a serious comeback in 2019, and here at Miller Homes, we've been admiring the enamel trends that are showing no sign of slowing.

Tiles are durable, stylish and an easy way to bring your personality into your home. Gone are the days of dull splashbacks and boring flooring, as this year has ushered in bolder tile styles.

We've taken inspiration from online interior specialists to create a list of our favourite tiling trends.

Costa del home

Spain is known for its tiled-lined streets, and you can bring the Hispanic influence to your home with brightly coloured and patterned tiling. Gabriella, from the Instagram account, I Have This Thing With Tiles, highlights the blue hexagon tiles, reminiscent of those in Lisbon, are the most popular on her feed.

Go vintage

Vintage-look tiling will bring sunshine to your home and works in any room. Stylish and practical, a statement ceramic splashback in the kitchen adds colour to your cooking space and are easy to wipe down. Vintage tiles are also a practical way to add a pop of colour to your bathroom - we love quaint mosaic tiles.

Make it groovy

According to the design team at Forbes, a 70s psychedelic trend will make a big return to interiors next year. Key colours will bring rich, earthy colours like mustard, olive green and caramel into the home, with geometric shapes and abstract patterns creating a nostalgic feel.

You can also go retro with cool, clashing prints. Pairing a checked black and white flooring with bright walls is the perfect nod to 70s style.

An updated classic

Subway tiles are practical, timeless and work with interiors of all types. Only to be used on walls due to their thickness, there are plenty of ways to update this classic look.

Positioning is key. By placing these tiles vertically or in a herringbone pattern, they'll not only look on-trend but also add height to your room.

The best way to update a wall with subway tiles is to pick your favourite colour, finish - we love matt - and then add a coloured grout for a quirky detail.

Whether you're after a classic or a contemporary look or hoping to make a statement, now is the time to let your tiles do the talking. Show us your tile style over on our Instagram @MillerHomesUK and join the conversation.
