As the 16th-century birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is one of the most celebrated literary destinations in English history. Today, his name lives on through The Royal Shakespeare Company, bringing his plays such as Romeo and Juliet and Othello to life at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and occasionally, on the banks of the famous River Avon.

Nature lovers will be thrilled by the River Avon trail, a 23-mile stretch through Bristol and Bath boasting fantastic views of the Avon Valley Woodlands and the renowned Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Recently voted one of the top 50 places to live in the UK by the Daily Mail, this medieval market town in the heart of Warwickshire enjoys a rich history over 800 years, and receives 4.9 million visitors on average each year.
